My deceased aunt, whom I respect most, always told us to “try and try until you succeed.” They are very common words for us but quite important as we persevere in life. Sometimes if we have failures, we question ourselves or even God. We may ask why we are so unfortunate in life while others have a lot to thank for? Negative thoughts come into our minds rather than the positive ones. We should remember that If once in our life we fall down, we just need to get up! It is not the end of our battle, but it challenges us to fight back whatever it may be that causes us to fall. If we try again, climb up higher, then when we look down we will realise we are on top of our dreams.

Live well with what life can offer.” This was the motto of my loving mom who always reminded us to be open-minded and grateful about the things that come into our life. It has guided me to cherish the people around me who are close to my heart.
She also said if there had been any choice she would not have left us. She would have made sure that we were well taken care of. “You must live with your trial, whether you like it or not. And, to live it well. The world is full of beautiful places, flowers, music. Enjoy them. That way you can be the best version of yourself,” she said. She told me just remember it is the people in my life that make it worthwhile. It is the people and memories, not material things, that are really important. In the end nothing else matters as much as that.

Within our big family, every child is unique and an important part of the united body.” These were words I heard from my parents which were forever in my heart and I put to practise with my own family. There was unity and peace amidst chaos and fun while doing household tasks as my siblings and I were trained. At a young age we were also taught lessons of kindness, cooperation and belongingness. We were also taught to care for one another, provide the needs of every family member first and then reach out to help others. At the same time we were told to fulfill the social responsibilities in the society where we belong.

My dad used to tell me that if life is like a wheel, then be the driver. Life is like a wheel, which has its ups and downs. There are times we have our good days but sometimes we have our bad days or even weeks or months. We ought to make sacrifices, big or small. Sacrifices that will challenge us. But no
matter what challenges come, we must face them with full faith to the Lord and accept it. Acceptance drives us to move forward. It will make us stronger and wiser as we face life. Let’s just think that these challenges were the spices of our life.

Life is full of mysteries, make the most of it.” It was my beloved husband’s motto in life. Indeed it is true! No one knows what tomorrow brings. It could be happiness; it could be sadness. Be ready to face whatever it is. Truth is painful sometimes. Accept it with broad shoulders. Remember tomorrow is never promised to anyone. So be happy today. Enjoy life as it’s God’s greatest gift.
