A heart for Christ

In your life, do you have a heart for Christ?
After all the work and striving is your soul in tune,
With the one who commissioned you to step out?
Are you listening to the voice who inspires,
Descending from the Spirit and prompting you
Towards heavenly treasures to aspire?

Do you have a heart for Christ in the poor?
When you see his suffering on the Cross
Do you have a heart for the one who gave his?
Does his tender heart touch your inner most self?
He shed every drop of his blood for you
With the pain and suffering he felt.

Do you have a heart for Christ in others?
Do you see them as your sisters and brothers?
Even those who hurt or persecute you?
Do you invite him to be a part,
Of the life that he created in you?
Are you ready to give him your heart?

Do you have a heart for Christ in yourself?
Your body was created to be a temple,
A holy place for his Spirit to dwell.
How will you honour this holy shrine?
Will you share his love to those around?
So your life will help his love to shine.
