As an overseas worker, like others, I pray to have a good employer. It is essential that we have a good employment relationship. I pray and wish that my employer will grant me at least a yearly free medical check up; an increased salary and food allowance; a work schedule of eight hours daily. I pray and wish to have a vacation after the pandemic. They are only my wishes and if my wishes do not come true, it is fine with me because in fairness my employer treats me well.

My biggest goal in life is to have good health. This is what I always pray for. Health is wealth and our health is our capital. Yet we should be healthy not only in body but also in mind and spirit. That is why I try to have a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy food and doing exercises. I also pray to God to guide me to perform my duties perfectly and to be able to give a comfortable life to my family. I pray for higher salary so as to provide more for my family. On the occasion of International Labour Day, I pray for an end of the pandemic and the recovery from financial crises so that businesses can be restored and many can find jobs.

I pray to have sufficient food so that I can have more strength for my daily chores. Like many overseas Filipino workers, I wish that the food allowance will be made mandatory so we need not spend money to buy food when the food given by some employers is not really enough. This is the money I should have saved for my family.
I also pray that the pandemic will come to an end so I can visit my family and that they will all be protected from illnesses. I pray that I will be able to save enough money to start a small business of our own so I need not work abroad and can be with my family. I missed several occasions being with my family while working overseas.
Instead of spending for myself, I’d rather spend for the needs of my family. I am praying hard too that I will be able to support my children’s education until they finish college. My biggest wish is to buy a house for my parents and children before I go home for good.

My wish is that before I go back home in the Philippines, my children will be able to finish their studies and they will have a good job in the future. It is also my big wish that by the time I go home I would be able to have saved money that can be used someday in a little business so that we have source of income for our daily needs and paying bills. May the Lord help me attain my wishes and hear my humble supplications.

I wish that I can have higher salaries. My heart will bounce for joy for more income. Number one reason is that we can send more money to our family. Secondly, we can save more money for future use. If we still have money to spare, we can buy the things that we want. Above all, I pray that in the near future I can reunite with my family and loved ones. Nothing can compensate the love and care from a family.

I wish that our consulate can offer us more free livelihood trainings and financial literarcy seminars. I hope that immediate assistance can be given to overseas workers in distress, and that there will be more training for new comers about their rights. I wish that the two-week rule upon contract termination can be lifted. Above all, I pray that all workers will be given recognition for their work regardless of the job they have. All who have made contributions should be treated with respect.
