It is an ill wind that blows no good

As the saying goes, “It’s an ill wind that blows no good.” The Covid-19 pandemic is disastrous but it has reminded us to cherish the important things around us.

The family member have got closer and many have realised the value of what they have lost in the pandemic, such as the chance to attend Mass in church, and to meet with the congregation and friends. And people have realised they need God before the sorry state we are living in.

We thank God that in Malta, Mass has been transmitted daily over the social media, radio and TV for the past year. The online Mass can make such a difference in the house with the daily readings, prayers and short homilies.

We have missed much the reception of the Holy Eucharist in Mass, though again in Malta, churches were open for one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon for Adoration and the distribution of the Eucharist.

We have come to realise about the wonders of the Mass we are losing. We know that there is nothing greater than the Mass on earth, and even in Heaven there is nothing greater. Always remember that the saints never speak so eloquently as when they speak about the Mass.

We have learned to cherish the chance to attend Masses now. Indeed, it is an ill wind that blows no good.
