HONG KONG (SE): Prior to the pastoral measures by the Diocese of Hong Kong to suspend Church activities in the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Hong Kong Catholic Charismatic Service Committee (HKCCSC) was able to organise an Advent Recollection on November 29.
This year’s gathering was held from 1.00pm until 6.00pm at the Caritas Hall in Caine Road.
The speaker for the day was Father Jay Francis Flandez SVD, the Diocesan Spiritual Coordinator for the HKCCSC starting from December 1. Speaking on the theme of the day which was Christ our Hope and Light, Father Flandez mentioned that as followers of Christ, we must be the light to our neighbours and reconciliation with others is a must. There is no love if there is no reconciliation.
He also shared his experiences during his younger days as his father brought him to a charismatic group, which served as one of his inspirations to pursue priesthood.
Father Lawrence Lee Len later also gave a message to encourage the congregation to be in unity to celebrate starting from the beginning of Advent.
At the end of the talk, Father Flandez led a prayer for deliverance from fear, healing of physical and emotional illness, reconciliation, unity and faith in the society.
A Mass was then celebrated by Father Flandez.
