The beauty of a loose schedule

Ioften tended to fully pack my schedules on holidays so as to fully utilise them. It seems that my time is never enough on my days off.

Despite my fatigue at work on weekdays, I might need to wake up at five on a Sunday so that I could have more time.

In fact, I used to have problems following my schedules, as it was sometimes too full and left no room for unexpected things. For example, I might need to attend a class after joining the Mass, followed by a lunch with a friend, and the plan to help in a party in the evening somewhere else. The need to rush gave me a bit of pressure.

But during the pandemic, my activities are all cancelled. And I was at first at a loss about what to do.

However, I gradually come to realise the advantage of a loose schedule. I can do things I am in the mood for. Instead of three to four schedules on one day, now I have only one, and see what I want to do next. I find it flexible and relaxing to spend my holiday in this way.

One thing I learned recently is: never be too demanding on myself and prioritise my needs, and have the wisdom to cut the schedules that I cannot fulfill. This is the beauty of a simple holiday.
