Proverbs 15:13 says, “A glad heart makes a cheerful face”. We like to stay with people with smiles, as a positive person can cheer us up as well.
Serious people tend to response to a minor problem with the words, “this is not a joke.” However, smiles and jokes can in fact create a positive environment in which people are more likely to support one another instead of shifting blames before trials, which is the essence of team spirit.
When you smile, your heart will become lighter and you are more able to accept the reality, solve an embarrassing situation or discover the interesting things around you. This better mood can help you think of a solution.
Smile and a sense of humour is in fact a kind of wisdom preventing us from dragging ourselves into unnecessary anxiety. They remind us that the negative things happen to us is not as bad as we think, and we can overcome them.
The real problem is: we often forget to smile.
