My wish for the country on Independence Day

My wish for the country on Independence Day

I  wish that people in our country can have peace and happiness. I wish for its progress and prosperity in all aspects.

I also wish that this pandemic will come to an end so that people will not suffer too much. Due to the lockdown people cannot go to work. Some of them can only depend on the relief from government but sometimes it is not enough.

Independence Day celebrations in mid June every year are important for us. I remember two years ago we have a dance competition in the church and we danced to the song of Ang
Bayan
Kong
Pilipinas
. We got the second prize. Actually, whether we won or not is not important. Our love for the country is built up with such fond memories — with our people and in every event that we are together.

I  wish that the government officials will lead their people on the path to peace and order, and that they would focus on humanitarian deeds for the best and for the welfare of the people in the Philippines. I wish that everyone can be united for the common good of the nation, rather than to promote their political interest. Also I hope that our people will follow the guidelines of the government during the pandemic so that the virus can be controlled.

Now all countries are busy fighting against the Covid-19 virus. There are no exemptions. All of us are worried not only about our health but also our daily income. Here in the Philippines, many people blame the government for only helping the poorest of the poor. I think what cannot be ignored are other families who have paid taxes, and the families of the overseas Filipino workers. How I wish that the government can give support to all, as all have suffered and all need help. Good bless our country. Happy Independence Day!

Independence Day has a great significance in our lives. After more than 300 years of colonisation, our people finally had freedom, which our ancestors have sacrificed their lives to fight for. In the event, we celebrate this freedom and keep our spirit alive by organising programmes all over the country and abroad. This is the time for us to bond regardless of our religion, culture or any other backgrounds.

The Philippines is a nation with its own identity. But there are still a lot to be done. Now it is our turn to continue the legacy of doing great for the next generations to come. We can achieve our dreams by asking for God’s guidance and constantly praying.

Iwish that our country will be one in looking for a cure for this virus. I also hope that we will have more understanding to respect the survivors of the disease.
