Enjoy being alone

During this pandemic, I have spent more time alone in my room on Sundays instead of gathering with friends outside. After meeting my friends in the morning, I was “advised” by my employer to go home early and rest. Surprisingly I feel quite happy with the time only for myself.

I enjoy reading a spiritual book alone without the need to take care of any one next to me. I also find it necessary to tidy up my room and put away the winter clothes. I need to check out what happens to my family and friends through the facebook. I want to write a dairy, which I never have a mood to do on a normal Sunday when my schedules are packed. Above all, I need more sleep. In fact, my time alone is quite fruitful.

We were afraid of being alone when we were young and tended to spend a lot of time with friends. We enjoyed the feeling of being recognised by our peer. But as we grow up, we realise that what we want to do or what we think does not need to be the same as others, which creates a need to be alone for some time.

Spending time alone is different from loneliness if we enjoy it.
