Walk with Jesus Seminar with Oasis of Love, Cebu

The Chaplaincy for Filipinos in Hong Kong together with the Oasis of Love from Cebu held a two-day event called “Walk with Jesus Seminar” on January 26 and 27, the first and second day of the Lunar New Year,  at the Bayanihan Kennedy Town Centre in Victoria Road, Western District.

The Oasis of Love “Walking with Jesus Seminar” was formerly known as Oasis of Love Cebu Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminar carrying a mission to evangelise through the seminars and bring people back to God. The group has outreach ministries in various places worldwide such as Hong Kong, Holland and the United States as well as different regions in the Philippines including Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Nonito Limchua

On January 27, speakers invited from Oasis of Love-Cebu were Jimmy Dagoya, Charles Gacasan, Paul Alima and its founder Nonito Limchua.  Limchua talked about the importance of forgiveness and its healing effects. He said that even though a person wants to do good, he is unable to do so if he has hatred and unforgiveness in him. He invited those present to examine their conscience and repent.

A portion from the movie, The Passion of the Christ, from the scourging at the pillar up to the crucifixion was shown to the participants. Limchua then led a prayer for forgiveness as he asked participants to close their eyes and imagine themselves as inside the womb of their mother. Step by step he led them to reflect deeper and to ask forgiveness for the hatred and unforgiveness they bore against their parents.

Small groups were then formed among the participants while they shared how they felt and at the same time waited for their turns to go to confession.  After going to confession, participants were asked to enter the adoration room one by one and they were prayed over individually by Jimmy Dagoya in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

The celebration of the Holy Eucharist was headed by Father Raffy de Gracia of the Diocese of Butuan and concelebated by Father John Orat from the Diocese of Cebu and Father Renel Cabag of the Order of Discalced Augustinians.

In the homily of Father de Gracia, he spoke on the six sins against the Holy Spirit which are: despairing of salvation; presumption of salvation; denying a truth; envying the grace that God gives to other people; obstinacy in sin and impenitence until last.

Certificates of recognition were awarded to candidates for completing all sessions. SE
