Thought for the week: Hold on to Jesus

Thought for the week: Hold on to Jesus

‘Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect’
(Romans 12:2).

Our world keeps changing. We can find loads of new inventions making our lives easier as science and technology have a huge impact to human lives in this new generation.

However, we need to be aware of the advantages and disadvantages brought by the computer age. We lost the simplicity of living and the meaning of the gift of life itself. We lost the main purpose of our life brought by temptations and challenges. We may think happiness can only be found through material things, wealth, power or fame. As a result of yielding to the temptations of the world, family relationship may be broken and friendship becomes meaningless. The teenage pregnancy rate is soaring high and suicide has become really common. What is going on in our world?

Life will be better if we know how to transform our lives. We do need to renew our minds and hearts with the power of the  Holy Spirit within us, and use our discernment in all we do so that we will know what is pleasing and acceptable to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let us remember that family is a special and priceless gift from God. Let us keep in touch with our loved ones, relatives and friends and most of all our Lord, Jesus Christ who knows all our needs and troubles. Please give more time for peace and for the solution of whatever troubles we are facing everyday. Pray for more enlightenment, courage and faith in God. Be kind, understanding and forgiving.

Each one of us has a special plan and purpose in life and only God knows what is best for each of us. We have our own weaknesses and failures but God is always there to help us and embrace us. May the unconditional love of Jesus Christ strengthen our faith and hope as we face our daily struggles and challenges.
