New year for Caritas Wu Cheng-chung Secondary School

HONG KONG (SE): Guests, principals, teachers and students came together at the hall of Caritas Wu Cheng-chung Secondary School for the opening ceremony of the new school year on September 2.

Among the guest were Father Ferdinand Flavien Bouambe, of the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who led the prayers; and Isabella Lo, school manager of the Incorporated Management Committee, who gave the opening talk.

Students, especially those in form six who will be sitting their public exams, were encouraged to work hard and strive for excellence by Lo.

The new school principal, Stanley Chung Chi-yuen, greeted everyone and promised students that he would walk with them. As he desired to share in their happiness, worries, struggles and dreams, he promised them a Lunch with Principal

Awards were also presented to students with outstanding academic results. 

Carlo Jabonero Nucum, a 6C student from the previous academic year, received the HKDSE (Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education) Outstanding Achievement Award. He is now majoring in English and Liberal Studies at the Caritas Institution of Higher Education. Susmita Gurung (4B), Nisha Kandel (6B) and Tehbeer Rasool (6B), received scholarships for Non-academic Outstanding Performance.

The event ended with cheers and hopes following the recessional hymn.
