MANILA (RVA News): Catholic digital communicators, content creators, and faith influencers from across Asia have been invited to participate in the inaugural Asian Catholic Digital Missionary Assembly to be held from September 10–13 at the Radio Veritas Asia headquarters in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
Jointly organised by the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences–Office of Social Communications [FABC-OSC] and Radio Veritas Asia [RVA] in partnership with the Vatican Dicastery for Communication through the Fully Present Network, the assembly is themed “Influencers to Witnesses: A Synodal Way for Digital Mission in Asia.” The theme draws inspiration from the biblical verse, “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” [Acts 4:20].
The assembly seeks to support Catholic digital influencers as they move from simply creating online content to becoming authentic witnesses of faith. The focus will be on building a regional network of digital missionaries committed to evangelisation, collaboration, and a synodal approach to communication.
Additionally, the assembly aims to strengthen the digital presence of the Asian Church by creating opportunities for participants to share experiences, develop partnerships, and explore innovative ways to communicate the gospel via digital platforms.
“This assembly is more than a conference. It is the beginning of a continental network of Catholic digital missionaries committed to evangelisation, collaboration, and mutual support,” said Father John Mi Shen, executive secretary of FABC-OSC and programme director of Radio Veritas Asia.
Our goal is not simply to produce more digital content, but to form authentic witnesses of Christ who can communicate the Gospel with creativity, credibility, and compassion

“Our goal is not simply to produce more digital content, but to form authentic witnesses of Christ who can communicate the Gospel with creativity, credibility, and compassion,” Father Mi Shen added.
The assembly will also mark a milestone in the Church’s preparation for World Youth Day 2027 in Seoul, South Korea. Participants will explore ways to develop “Asian Voices for WYD,” a collaborative digital initiative aimed at connecting young Catholics across Asia in the lead-up to the global gathering.
The assembly will feature an international panel of resource persons from Asia and beyond, including Bishop Marcelino Antonio “Junie” Maralit Jr. of the Philippines; Dr. Natasa Govekar of the Vatican Dicastery for Communication; Pie Mabanta-Fenomeno of the Philippines; Michael Unland of Germany; Dr. Anna Jihyun You of South Korea; and Father Cyril Victor Joseph of India.
Aligning with Radio Veritas Asia’s mission to be the “Voice of Asian Christianity”, the assembly aims to provide a platform for digital communicators to contribute to the Church’s evangelising mission and amplify the diverse voices of Asian Catholics in the digital space.
