Salesian Oratory opens and welcomes all

The grand openning ceremony of the Salesian Oratory in St. Louis School on October 29 brought people great joy with the presence of guests and their blessings. They included Father Joseph Nguyen Thinh Phuoc, regional councilor for East-Asia Oceania, Father Matthew Chan Hung-kee, Rector of St. Louis School, Father Joseph Ng Chi-yuen provincial, Father Lanfranco Fedrigotti, Father Peter Ng Dor-lok, Father Anthony Pun Ming-chi and other Salesian priests.

We invited children, young people and parents to join us in this event, with games and prizes, drawing competitions and performances. This event was not just attended by the local Chinese people but also by people from different countries like Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Malaysia, etc.

This was not all about prizes but it is about bonding, enjoying themselves in games, meeting new faces, becoming good friends and giving care and recreation for the children and young ones.

Don Bosco called his weekly band of young people “The Oratory,” a term which to his mind suggested prayer and organised recreation.

We did our best as a volunteer in this event with joy and happiness as we get a chance to talk and play with children, young ones and their parents, and make sure that everyone got their gifts and prizes.

At the end of the event,  Father Chan and the team has a surprise for all the participants — the grand prizes with their respective numbers and after that a final blessing to us all.

We will operate the oratory every Sunday afternoon from 2.00pm to 5.00pm in St. Louis School.
