
SEOUL (SE): The Pastoral Office of the Local Organising Committee for World Youth Day Seoul convened its Preliminary Research Team, as the city gears up to host the global event in 2027, according to a press release from the Committee for Communications, the Archdiocese of Seoul.
Comprising a diverse assembly of over 40 members, team brings together clergy, consecrated people, and dynamic young minds. It held its first meeting on January 25.
“In bringing together this dynamic team, we are not only laying the groundwork for WYD Seoul 2027 but also fostering a space for profound spiritual reflection and collaboration,” remarked Father Peter Ju-yul Yang, the executive secretary of the committee.
“The diverse perspectives and expertise within the Preliminary Research Team will undoubtedly enrich our preparations, ensuring that World Youth Day in Seoul becomes a transformative experience for all participants,” he added.
The committee presently consists of three integral components: the Pastoral Office, spearheading spiritual and pastoral considerations; the Planning Office, managing strategic planning; and the Foundation Secretariat, overseeing foundational and administrative aspects.
