I give all my thanks, glory and honour to God for the gift of life and another beautiful year he adds in my life. And for the many seen and unseen blessings that may be big or small, I know in my heart that they are given from up above.
I will turn 44 this year. But age is just a number. For me it is a number of experience and level of maturity. Besides, we can notice some physical changes like having wrinkles, white hair and sometimes being forgetful.
Some people in their 30’s and even younger ones have already suffered from diabetes, hypertension or many other complications. They are common illness for Filipinos according to studies.
As we age, health becomes delicate so we need to be careful about what we eat and spend some time in physical exercises to help ensure healthy body and minds. In this time of pandemic our physical and mental health can be at stake.
To help ourselves cope up with stress, every morning I ride my bicycle to the farm to do some farm work so that I get perspired and some fresh air. I am always captivated by the green, clean and calm nature. The farm is my gateway to release stress from this long running pandemic. When I return home I bring with me freshly picked vegetables and fruits. Apart from being healthy they are absolutely free. It only takes some patience and hard work to plant and grow them.
As a health tip from my own personal experience, it is important to get enough sleep. If we can go to bed with peace in our hearts and minds, offer to God in prayers our pains and worries, we can have a restful and sound sleep in the calmness of the night.
I still believe in an old saying that health is wealth. As long as we are healthy we can have an active mind. If we have an active mind we can do our work better and live happier. If we are happy we spread smiles and positivity.
I like to challenge my mind through writing. I hope my articles can bring some positive messages to the lives of others so that I can still be an effective servant of God.
At the end of the day how we live our lives matters the most. Outer beauty will later fade but real beauty will always shine within. Our concern is not only our physical wellness but above all of our spirits.
