
HONG KONG (SE): The Diocese of Hong Kong will celebrate its 80th anniversary on Saturday, 11 April, marking its elevation from an apostolic vicariate on the same day in 1946.
The day’s events will begin with a Mass at 10:00am at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Cardinal Stephen Chow, S.J. will lead celebrants in paying tribute to Father Theodore Joset, the first apostolic prefect of Hong Kong, as well as the city’s deceased bishops and early missionaries.
In the afternoon, a student forum at the auditorium will focus on youth mission and university pastoral care. Booth activities are scheduled from 5:30pm to 6:30pm outside the cathedral, followed by a youth performance at the Caritas Community Hall from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
