VATICAN (SE): Pope Francis appeared on the loggia of St Peter’s Basilica, to greet the crowds gathered in a tulip-filled St Peter’s Square on Easter sunday, April 20, Vatican News reported.
“Christ, my hope, has risen,” Pope Francis proclaimed, adding, “Love has triumphed over hatred, light over darkness, and truth over falsehood. Forgiveness has triumphed over revenge.”
The pope called for calling for peace worldwide, global disarmament and for the release of prisoners. He also appealed to all those who hold positions of political responsibility in our world not to yield to the logic of fear but to use our resources to help those in need.
