HONG KONG (SE): Sister Margaret Wong, the principal and supervisor of St. Paul’s Convent School [SPCS], encouraged graduates to embrace their individuality and develop the agility and versatility needed to navigate a fast-changing world during the school’s annual Speech Day on November 22.

The event highlighted the school’s enduring commitment to nurturing confident and innovative change-makers who will serve their country and shape the future. Sister Wong emphasised the importance of being proactive change-makers who can contribute meaningfully to the advancement of society.
She observed that by doing so, Paulinians can embark on a journey that will ultimately lead them to the eternal life that God has prepared for each of them.
Along with the graduates and prize winners, Sister Wong also congratulated the staff receiving the long service awards, commending their great efforts in helping to build SPCS into a fine institution which is pleasing to both God and men.

Dr. Choi Yuk Lin, secretary for Education and the guest of honour, complimented SPCS’s remarkable 170-year legacy of providing quality education for girls in Hong Kong. She pointed out that the anniversary theme—“Roots and Wings. Now and Beyond”—resonates with the school’s core values. While preparing Paulinians for future challenges in an ever-changing world, SPCS nurtures them to remain connected to their roots as Catholics and Chinese.
Other luminaries gracing at the occasion included Sister Joanna Marie Cheung, provincial superior of the Sisters of St. Paul de Chartres of Hong Kong and Taiwan; Ivy Man Wai Yin, chief school development officer (Wanchai & Island); and Gloria Leung Kee Yun, senior school development officer of the Education Bureau.
