By: Noemi Manguerra

This is a chacoal pencil painting of Manguerra depicting St. Teresa of Kolkata praying in darkness, showing her respect to the strong faith of the saint.
She started drawing at an early age and is one of the founders of Guhit Kulay (Stroke of Colour), a group for migrants interested in arts. She set up the group with an intention to unleash the hidden talents of migrants. “You do not have to have a formal education to be able to draw or paint if you have the determination to learn,” she said. “Life is a like art, you are the masterpiece of what you would like to be, an image and inspiration to anyone who sees you.”
She is now working in Canada.
