HONG KONG (SE): The Claretian Missionaries [CMF] in Hong Kong received news from the provincial superior and the provincial secretary of the Claretian Missionaries of Polska [Poland] reporting on the situation in Ukraine.

“We offer you the latest news about the situation of our community in Ukraine and in this country. Much of the information is of course on the Internet,” the Claretians in Poland reported.

“Today we speak with the parish priest of the parish in Truskavets [Ukraine], Father Krzysztof Labedz CMF. He tells us that the situation in the city is stable, but, as it happens in every military conflict of such a level, the situation can change quickly,” they said in their message.

“The common fear is due to the real possibility of the invasion of Belarusian troops. Many refugees from the eastern part of the country are coming to the city of Truskavets and our brothers are trying to help them: mainly by organizing housing for them or helping them to travel to Poland,” they said.

“As of today, and during the last four days, about 300,000 Ukrainians have arrived in Poland. We are very proud of our brothers and sisters in Ukraine and also of all Poles who welcome so many people in their homes. Also in our houses and Claretian communities we receive mothers with children coming from Ukraine. The Province of Polska is organising the collection of funds and other basic necessities to send them to Ukraine,” the Claretians in Poland said.

“Naturally, we ask everyone’s prayers for the present situation and for so many people who are suffering. Best regards.”
